Welcome to the visa area for foreigners wishing to obtain an entry visa to Algeria.
Foreigners wishing to visit Algeria must present on arrival a valid passport with an entry visa to the Algerian territory issued by the Algerian Embassy or Consulate of the usual place of residence of the applicant. With the exception of countries where visa formalities are not required (see list of countries).
The movement and establishment of foreigners in Algeria are governed by the following texts:
Presidential Decree No. 03-251 of 19 July 2003 on the situation of foreigners in Algeria.
-Law N ° 08-11 of 25 June 2008, relating to the conditions of entry, stay and movement of foreigners in Algeria.

Category of entry visa to Algeria
Diplomatic Visas, Service, Courtesy:
diplomatic, service or special passport, or valid ordinary passport,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
a note verbale
Press visa:
passport valid for more than 6 months,
specific application form for a press visa, in three (3) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
cover letter from the employer media
photocopy of the press card
possibly a letter of invitation from the Algerian partner.
Tourist visa:
passport valid for more than 6 months,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
letter of invitation, or certificate of accommodation legalized by the municipality of residence of the inviting person.
or, failing that, a hotel reservation letter or an attestation issued by a travel agency.
Business Visa:
passport valid for more than 6 months,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
mission letter issued by the employer stating the purpose of the trip,
letter of invitation from the Algerian partner or a certificate supported by the organization.
Study Visa:
passport valid for more than 6 months,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
certificate of registration at a public or private educational institution approved by the State.
Proof of means of taking care of studies and resources.
Work visa :
passport valid for more than 6 months,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
provisional authorization of work issued by the competent services in charge of the employment, and attestation aimed by these same services, by which the employer organization undertakes to ensure the assumption of responsibility for the repatriation of the foreign worker from the rupture of the relation of
Copy contract of employment.
Temporary work visa:
passport valid for more than 6 months,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
copy of a contract of employment the duration of which can not exceed three
provisional work permit issued by the competent services.
The temporary work visa is also issued abroad with a contract of assistance or service provided by him or his employer with a company or an organization carrying on business in Algeria.
Family Visa:
passport valid for more than 6 months,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
document proving the petitioner’s relationship with the person or family to be accommodated.
Medical Visa:
passport valid for more than 6 months,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
medical certificate,
support for medical expenses,
agreement of the receiving care facility or certificate of accommodation and evidence of resources for the duration of the stay.
Cultural Visa:
passport valid for more than 6 months,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
copy of the invitation to any seminar or event of a cultural, scientific or sporting nature,
proof of resources for the duration of the stay.
Group Visa: (This type of visa is issued to foreigners traveling under a valid group passport)
collective passport valid for more than 6 months,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two photographs per traveler, recent, of the same edition,
hotel reservation,
proof of resources for the duration of the stay,
transport ticket
Transit Visa:
passport valid for more than 6 months with a valid visa of the country of final destination,
visa application form, in two (2) copies, correctly completed and signed,
two recent photographs of the same edition,
proof of resources for the duration of transit
NOTE: A two to seven day layover permit will be issued by the competent authorities to the crews of foreign ships and aircraft.
Tax
payment of a chancery fee is required for the issuance of visa, the price varies depending on the nationality of the applicant.
Extension of stay in Algeria:
The visa can be extended in Algeria under certain conditions, before the expiry of the current visa, apply to the Bureau des étrangers near the Wilayas where stays abroad.
