The rule of the Ottoman Muslims in 1518

The Spanish entered Algeria from Oran in 1504 under the leadership of Gonzalo Cicineroz, the Cardinal of the Catholic Kings. The inhabitants of Bejaia and Jijel sought the brotherhood of Arouj. Barbaros Arouj and Khairuddin placed Algeria under Ottoman rule and set up a base for their maritime operations on the Christian fleets. These activities culminated in 1600 AD (the name of Dar al-Jihad was called the city of Algeria). The city of Algiers was attacked during the reign of King Charles V in 1535 after its takeover of the city of Tunis, which lasted short. In 1827, Daih Hussein (governor of Algeria) expelled the French consul from his council, referring to him as a fan, which France considered an insult to her. After a long siege, France occupied Algeria in 1830.
